Thank you for considering a Congressional Tour (that can include other VIPS) of your facility or program site!
We have been told on our lobbying visits on Capitol Hill that even more impactful than coming to Washington is hosting your local Representative and Senator at your program site or compost facility. What’s the impact, you say?
- A YES vote on the Compost Act, on the Farm Bill containing INFRASTRUCTURE FUNDING, RESEARCH ON PFAS in COMPOST FUNDING, or the Recycling and Composting Accountability Act, which will bring desperately needed statistics, planning and data to our industry.
- Knowledge of COMPOSTING. We are finding that legislators have either very little knowledge of the business model of composting, or misconceived notions about what it is. It is important to demonstrate to them that we are VIABLE BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS
providing a living wage, environmental benefits and economic development to their community—YOUR COMMUNITY!
