USCC invites mentors with professional business experience in the compost manufacturing and collection industry to participate with a mentee, a Young Professional college graduate or industry employee over the age of 21 and under 40, in our Young Professionals Mentoring Program for 2019. This is the fifth year for the program!
Interview with 2017-2018 Mentoring Pair Phil Westcott and Jeff Ziegenbein
MENTORS: Must be members of good standing in the US Composting Council and be actively employed in the compost manufacturing/organics recycling/compostable products fields.
MENTEES: Membership is not required at the time of application, but is strongly encouraged by the end of the six-month mentoring period. Mentees should be between ages 21 and 40 and within their first five years of employment in the compost manufacturing/organics recycling/compostable products fields.
Process and Deadline:
Mentee and Mentor applications will be accepted until midnight May 17, 2019. Based on the interests expressed on the application by mentees and mentors, a subcommittee of the Young Professionals Group and USCC staff will match mentee/mentor pairs.
APPLICATIONS WILL OPEN April 15, 2019!
The Mentoring Period will be from July 1, 2019 through January 31, 2020. Mentor/Mentee pairs can choose their meeting schedule and format (phone, Skype, in person, email etc.) and are encouraged to make an in-person “capstone” meeting at COMPOST2020 in Charleston, SC.
USCC YP/Staff informal “checkins” will occur periodically throughout the period to enhance your success.
