Mentor             Mentee

USCC invites members with professional business experience in the compost manufacturing and collection industry to mentor an entrepreneur, a Young Professional college graduate or industry employee over the age of 21 and under 40, in our Young Professionals Mentoring Program for 2019. This is the sixth year for the program!

Interview with 2017-2018 Mentoring Pair Phil Westcott and Jeff Ziegenbein

MENTORS: Must be members of good standing in the US Composting Council and be actively employed in the compost manufacturing/organics recycling/compostable products fields.

MENTEES: Membership is not required at the time of application, but must join by the end of the six-month mentoring period. Mentees should be between ages 21 and 40 and within their first five years of employment in the compost manufacturing/organics recycling/compostable products fields.

Process and Deadline:
Mentee and Mentor applications will be accepted until midnight May 31, 2019. A subcommittee of the Young Professionals Group and USCC staff will match mentee/mentor pairs based on interest and experience. You will hear from us by mid-June!

The Mentoring Period will be from July 1, 2019 through January 31, 2020. Mentor/Mentee pairs can choose their meeting schedule and format (phone, Skype, in person, email etc.) and are encouraged to make an in-person “capstone” meeting at COMPOST2020 in Charleston, SC.

USCC YP/Staff informal “checkins” will occur periodically throughout the period to encourage your success.

The 2020 Mentoring Program will open for applications early in Q2 2020.

If you are interested in being notified when the application process begins, simply join our Young Professionals mailing list here; we will notify all YPs when the applications open!
