USCC invites members with professional business experience in the compost manufacturing and collection industry to mentor an entrepreneur, a Young Professional college graduate or industry employee over the age of 21 and under 40, in our Young Professionals Mentoring Program for 2020. This is the seventh year for the program!

We strongly encourage our mentees to join USCC during their mentoring year to increase your chances for success.

MENTORS: Must be members of good standing in the US Composting Council and be actively employed in the compost manufacturing/organics recycling/compostable products fields. 

MENTEES: Membership is not required at the time of application, but we strongly encourage you to join during your mentoring period for best success!  Mentees should be between ages 21 and 40 and within their first five years of employment in the compost manufacturing/organics recycling/compostable products fields.

Process and Deadline:
Mentee and Mentor applications will be accepted until midnight April 30,  2020. A subcommittee of the Young Professionals Group and USCC staff will match mentee/mentor pairs based on interest and experience. You will hear from us by mid-May!

The Mentoring Period will be from June 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021. Mentor/Mentee pairs can choose their meeting schedule and format (phone, Skype, in person, email etc.) and are encouraged to make an in-person “capstone” meeting at COMPOST2021 in Ontario, CA. Financial assistance may be available in the form of volunteering or other scholarships; stay tuned.

USCC YP/Staff informal “checkins” will occur periodically throughout the period to encourage your success.

The 2020 Mentoring Program opens for applications April 7 and closes April 30, 2020.
