Apply to Join STA Certified Compost

For Compost Manufacturers

 

Here are the simple procedures to follow to apply for your compost products to join the STA Certified Compost program. Thank you for your interest in the US Composting Council’s (USCC) Seal of Testing Assurance (STA) Certified Compost Program.

 

To Apply:

 

1)  Contact the USCC Market Development Coordinator with your interest

 

  

2)  Sign the STA Certified Compost rules contract through the online form.

 

 

3)  Give us a copy of the first page of your facility operating permit

 

 

4)  Give us your STA Certified Compost product info

 

 

5)  Begin following product testing guidelines- the testing process requires 3 to 4 weeks to complete, so collect and submit your compost sample ASAP using our guidelines.

 

 

6)  Maintain all contracted STA Certified Compost requirements

 

 

7)  Pay yearly participation fees plus application fee

Yearly Participation Fees are prorated for new applicants.
Application finalized in:    

 
July, Aug, Sept = Full Price                        
Oct, Nov, Dec = 10% Discount                        
Jan, Feb, March = 15% Discount                        
April, May, June = 20% Discount on present year + pay all of next year's cost.  So you don't have to renew a week or two after you join.   

 

New applicant fee.  Meant to cover staff time going back and forth with participant, and calling permit regulators.         

  
Per Facility = $200 Application Fee                        
If existing facilities add on last minute products after application is complete = $100 Application Fee
